The Technology Playmaker Awards 2020 ("the Awards") are organized by Booking.com B.V. Herengracht 597 1017 CE Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The competition was open to all women, and men in the case of Champion of Change, over the age of 18 on the day of submission. In cases where someone is younger, guardian or parental permission will be required.

Entry for the Awards opened on October 1, 2019. The awards were free to enter with each participant able to enter in up to three of the Award Categories.

Entry for the Awards closed on January 14, 2020 at 23:59. The winners will be announced on Thursday April 9th, 2020 on the Technology Playmaker Awards website and via a global press release available on the Booking Global Newsroom.

Only one entry per person, project or organization for each category was accepted.

Nominees who were nominated by others were informed of the Terms and Conditions. The person nominating was required to tick a box when they submitted the nomination to confirm that the nominee had agreed to the Terms & Conditions.

The criteria for shortlisting was determined beforehand and could not be disputed.

A shortlist of finalists was selected in each category from the entries submitted by the closing date. It was not possible to appeal the shortlisting. Booking.com is not held responsible for any errors made once entries were submitted. It was up to the entrant/nominee to contact us with any changes. Shortlisted finalists were notified by email or phone within 28 days of the closing date. Winners will be announced on this site on Thursday 9th April 2020.

The shortlisted finalist had to acknowledge this notification by no later than two weeks after receiving such notification by emailing contact@techplaymakerawards.com.

Up until the date of the winner announcement on Thursday April 9th 2020, we reserve the right to remove a finalist from the shortlist in case the entry was false or fraudulent, or in case of circumstances concerning the participant that may cause detriment to the reputation of the Awards, to Booking.com, to its partners and/or to their related intellectual property rights. We cannot be held liable in relation to such decision, or its consequences.

An independent panel of judges are responsible for selecting a winner for each category as well as one Technology Playmaker of the Year Award winner.

The judges' decisions cannot be appealed. There will be no correspondence about the judges' decisions and the jury report will not be disclosed.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer detailed feedback about specific shortlisting decisions or any details about individual entries.

All Award shortlisted entrants and winners will be asked to take part in promotional activities relating to the Awards. Booking.com and its partners involved (Ketchum Ltd www.ketchum.com), may use the details of the entry including name, location, details of the entry and any associated pictures or visuals in relation to the promotion of the Awards and the results of the Awards. This could include but not limited to promotion on websites, press releases, case studies, media, events, all event collateral such as brochures and the book of winners and social media and print. We may alter or edit the entry content as appropriate, for the promotion of the Awards and their results.

The panel of expert judges was announced on the Awards' website and could change in the event of circumstances outside our control.

No employee of Booking.com, employee organizing the Awards from either Booking.com or Ketchum Ltd, nor their family members, nor anyone else connected with organizing the Awards, could enter the Awards.

We cannot be held responsible for entries lost, delayed, misdirected, illegible or incomplete or which cannot be entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of entry is not proof of receipt.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.

If a provision of these Terms and Conditions is invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the other provisions. We reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, any or all Awards with or without prior notice due to reasons outside our control or due to other circumstances, at our discretion. Such decision is final and binding.

The Awards are awarded by Ketchum Ltd, acting on behalf of Booking.com.

To the extent permitted by applicable laws, we are not liable for any failure to comply with our obligations where such failure is caused by something outside our reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, sickness, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.

The "Technology Playmaker Awards" name, the website, logo and all corresponding and related marketing material for the Awards are the intellectual property of Booking.com who own, manage and administer the Awards and Booking.com reserves all rights related thereto. Using any of these without our permission constitutes (outside the legally permitted limitations) an infringement of our intellectual property rights, for which you may be held liable. Please contact us if you wish to make use of such materials, and follow the guidelines we provide in this respect. If you do make use of it without our permission, or outside the legally permitted limitations [or if you do not comply with the provided guidelines] or if you make false claims in relation to the Awards, you are to cease and desist this use upon our first request and remove any published material.

The winner is entirely responsible for assessing and paying all applicable federal, provincial, state and local taxes in any respect of the prize received, if any, including any income or withholding taxes. In the event that the Sponsor is or may reasonably become obliged to pay any withholding tax in relation to the prize, the Sponsor is entitled to deduct such tax from a prize.

All entries had to be made in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

Our decisions in relation to all matters connected with the Awards are final and binding.

No correspondence can be entered into in respect of any such decisions.
